Once again the High Holiday is upon us. And so is a comic, for once in far too long.
If you find the spirit of Samhain upon you here are the past Halloween comics, as well as an archive of InkTober nonsesne.

And here it is, suddenly the High Holiday is upon us. Seems my initial InkTober steam has run out, although partially it was to get a Halloween comic ready in time. As usual, the theory of “make quick comics for holidays” evolved into a complicated test of comic fortitude as I continue feeling out this ink wash angle. It was incredibly fun to do.
At Finster’s tonight it’s attack of the scary dolls and doll related entities. Who are these strange, stunted spooks? I AM GLAD YOU ASKED AS HERE IS A HANDY KEY I MADE FOR YOU BECAUSE I CARE FOR YOU SO VERY VERY MUCH:
If you’re up for more Hallow-skroode-een check out the Halloween archive yonder.
So Oíche Shamhna Shona Duit. Keep the gold chain on the doll.
Still constructing these semi autobiographical nihilistic pieces of cartoonery on a semi-inconsistent basis.
Many things demanding time and attention. And then musing over one of those periods all too common to those adrift in this comic nonsense: what is up exactly with this here and where is it going and should it continue etc etc. Long moments of unsurety.
But it continues anon. I suppose it is one of the parts of having this weird need to make stuff and throw it out into the world. Which may be enough.
Gonna need a nap after this one.
Larger version if’n you want to poke around in the details….click for the biggun’.
With bonus hidden homages if you can spy them in the tiny inkblotty crowd.
If you ain’t reading these…you should be.
Artwork cleanup: quiet time of zen reflection and crafting, or endless task of self loathing? Hard to say indeed.
I love seeing original non-digital artwork for many reasons, not the least of which is seeing all the corrections, white out, and paste ups. It reminds you it’s a process. Or burden.
Perhaps both.
Enjoy your holiday responsibly. Make sure you put everyone back where you found them.
A quick sketchy comic for the holiday with wisdom from Oscar Wilde.
Special thanks to CrudeDoodle for providing motivation in the form of “If you don’t get up a comic this week we are done. DONE.”
That’s right – your momma. You heard it. Hot. Maybe not to me, but to someone. Statistically speaking. I mean there are people out there who would say she’s hot. After all a lot of folks out there have really low standards. OH NO HE DIDN’T.
Yes. Yes I did.
Sometimes I reflect on the people you see credited in comics and graphic novels for doing all the lettering and wonder what kind of world produces someone full of self hatred and masochism. Really. If you feel you are ever getting too confident, letter for five minutes. Problem solved.
Or perhaps I just need to practice more.
One of my end of week morning routines is coffee and an hour noodling a comic to death with paste ups, white cover, and 0.000001 markers. It’s getting obsessive. You would think I would just clean it up in Photoshop and typeset it. Yep. You would think.
Next week: the crew wraps up the 69 Tints story and it fades into canon as we move on into new waters. Or something.
Based on a true story. Sort of. In my imagination sometimes.
